Vik
With a population of 300, the village of Vik (name means "Bay of the Marshy Valley") is located 180km from Reykjavik. This is an ideal overnight stopover place or if you are into snowmobiling or dogsledging we recommend at least a two night stop.

The beautiful black beach Reynisdrangar in 1991 was voted one of the ten best beaches in the World by the American journal Islands Magazine. Vik is considered one of the rainiest spot in Iceland.

There is no accommodation in the village of Vik but there is a quaint farm house situated 5km away where guests can spend a day or two.
