DAY 1 UK - ICELAND
Fly UK/Iceland:
On arrival, transfer by the ‘Flybus’ Service to your accommodation in Reykjavik.
DAY 2 NORTHERN LIGHTS COACH TOUR [Operated until 15 March]
Morning and Afternoon at leisure.
You will be collected from your accommodation for a departure at 9 pm for an evening of excitement hunting for the Aurora Borealis - Northern Lights!
DAY 3 GOLDEN CIRCLE COACH TOUR
Visit the classical sights of South-West Iceland known as the ‘Golden Circle’. Spend the day encountering a cross-section of Iceland’s natural wonders and geological phenomena. One of many highlights of this tour is the volcanic crater Kerið, and another is Gullfoss waterfall, the queen of Iceland's waterfalls, tumbling down a deep meandering gorge and the nearby world-famous Geysir geothermal field, where hot springs are in abundance, geysers explode and pools of mud bubble. The Geysir museum is included as a main feature of this area, an informative multimedia exhibition that vividly shows how the forces of nature shaped the country and the people. Finally, but no less spectacular is a visit to the *Þingvellir National Park. This is the place of the most historic events in Iceland and exceptional beauty. Þingvellir is the original site of the oldest existing parliament in the world. The Great Atlantic rift is also clearly visible here. (*Only visited if weather and road conditions are favourable during the hardest winter months).
DAY 4 REYKJAVIK - BLUE LAGOON – KEFLAVIK/ICELAND - UK
Opportunity to enjoy a unique bathing experience! Depart Reykjavik at 11:00 driving through the town of Hafnarfjordur and over vast lava fields to the peninsula and the world-famous Blue Lagoon. Time to bathe and relax in the amazing blue coloured mineral-rich waters of the lagoon before returning to Keflavik Airport by 14:30 to connect with your late afternoon flight.
Note: For Glasgow passengers returning on an early morning flight the ‘Blue Lagoon’ excursion can be taken on Day 2.
