‘Evening Special’ Flights 21:10/23:10 Hours.
On arrival Airport Transfer arranged by the ‘Flybus’ Service to your
overnight accommodation.

Day 2 REYKJAVIK

Day 3 REYKJAVIK – AKUREYRI – LAKE MYVATN
Domestic flight by Air Iceland Reykjavik to Akureyri: On arrival collect hire vehicle before departing Akureyri for one of Iceland’s most fascinating and enchanting areas in Northeast Iceland - Lake Myvatn famed for its wondrous scenery. Leaving Akureyri drive along the fjord of Eyjafjordur through the valley of Frjoskadalur with its lovely meandering river, via the scenic waterfall ‘Godafoss’ to Lake Myvatn - a protected Nature Reserve - a region teaming with wild fowl and surrounded by mountains and deserts, rich in natural elements such as lava fields, fissures and mud pools - an absolute paradise for nature lovers.

Day 4 LAKE MYVATN – HUSAVIK – LAKE MYVATN
Drive to the delightful fishing village of Husavik situated on the North Eastern shores, a typical Icelandic town with its picturesque Harbour. Husavik is without doubt the ‘Whale Watching Capital’ of Iceland. Down at the harbour why not board one of the boats ‘Knorrinn’ or ‘Haukur’ heading West across the bay, Excitement soon grips both passengers and crew on the look out for whales. Minke whales are seen on almost every excursion with some spectacular sightings over the years.

Optional Activities: Whale Watching Boat Trip from Husavik Harbour. Myvatn Nature Baths.
Day 5 LAKE MYVATN - TJORNES PENINSULA - LAKE MYVATN
From mid June-August [4WD recommended] other highlights include: Jokulsargljufur National Park – Iceland’s Grand Canyon. Driving around the Tjornes Peninsula. Dettifoss waterfall – Europe’s mightiest and the horse-shoe shaped canyon – Asbyrgi.

Day 6 LAKE MYVATN - AKUREYRI
Returning to Iceland’s northern Capital - Akureyri situated at the base of one of the most breathtaking fjords in all of Iceland - Eyjafjordur. The abundant trees give the city an inviting feel and provide a good contrast to the stark majestic mountains which encircle the area and their snow-caps which can be seen reflected in the still waters of the fjord.

Day 7 AKUREYRI

Optional Activities. Horse Riding. Air/Boat Excursion to Grimsey Island.
Day 8 AKUREYRI – REYKJAVIK/KEFLAVIK - UK
After breakfast, return hire vehicle back to Akureryi Airport to connect with a morning flight by Air Iceland to Reykjavik City Airport. The ‘Flybus’ Transfer Service back to Keflavik International Airport to connect with your return flight to the UK departs from Reykjavik BSI Bus Terminal 2 ½ - 3 Hours before the departure time of your flight.
