With a population of around 3000 Qaqortoq is the largest town in Southern Greenland. The meaning of the town is "White Place" which is very clean and tidy and in mid summer there is an explosion of wild flowers.

The town is an ideal base to follow various local tracking and hiking paths.

One can do various tours which include; tidewater glacier tour or 5 hour guided boat trip.

Those with energy are able to organise informal tours with local fishermen or why not go hunting with them.
