Olafsvik is one of the most productive fishing communities on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula.

Recent years have seen an increase in the number of tourists and with it an increase in accommodations and variety of cuisine.

There are multitude of places to visit around Olafsvik amongst which are Snaefellsjokull national park, Sea angling, Glacier tours and Whale watching cruises ( only place to possibly see the blue whale - largest living mammal on the planet.)
