Ilulissat - the town of the Icebergs is a very famous tourist destination to get a real feel for the Arctic.

As its name suggests the sea around Ilulissat is crowded with Icebergs and floes - some of which tend to be like skyscrapers in modern cities.

Apart from the obvious Northern lights, the area is also good for nature trails and boat trips around the stranded Icebergs and Midnight sail to the icefjord. Fishing is available during the summer months or in winter as ice fishing.
