Original name of Digranes was changed to present name of Borganes. Borganes is based on the very first farm house built by the original setller Skallagrimur Kveldulfsson.

Borganes is located on the western part of Iceland around 70km from Reykjavik, this pretty little town has a population of around 2000. Borganes' quaint setting in a cragged landscape gives it a unique feel.

Borganes has excellent facilities for those interested in horse riding as well as having a good 9-hole golf course. Numerous restaurants and shops also entice visitors to this town.

Keflavik international airport is located 120 kilometres away. Borgarnes is ideal to visit for those on fly drive or as part of a group tour.
