Akureyri
The "Capital of North Iceland" and located on the shores of Eyjafjordur, Iceland's longest Fjord, lies Akureyri.
Iceland's second City, with a population of over 15,000, the town is dominated by its two-spired Cathedral and has numerous restaurants, bars, cafes and boutiques. The first historical mention of Akureyri seems to date back to 1500's when a woman was sentenced for sleeping with a man without a marriage certificate!!!
